A little bit about us

Bridge Mushrooms is a modern mushrooms production facility, located in Mayobridge Co.Down. We have been producing mushrooms at our site in Mayobridge for over 30 years and today employ over 75 people.

Established in 1988, we began growing mushrooms with one small growing room producing less than 2000 lbs per week of fresh mushrooms on single layer growing bags.

Button Mushrooms

Button Mushrooms: The first pick of the crop, under 40mm in size, these white mushroom delivers a mild nutty flavour when raw which deepens upon cooking.

Brown Mushrooms

Brown mushrooms (AKA Chestnut Mushrooms) have a sweet and earthy flavour. These mushrooms are available fresh in sizes from 20mm to 65mm.

Flat Mushrooms

Larger in size, from 70mm to 120mm, these mushrooms are fully opened with gills visible. This type of mushroom is popular for fried breakfasts, barbecues and for stuffing.

Closed Cup

Larger than the button mushroom at 40mm to 70mm but still firmly closed, the closed cup mushroom is the most common mushroom on supermarket shelves.

Portobello mushroom is increasingly popular due to its more intense flavour and appearance. These can generally be used in recipes that require Flat mushrooms.
